We are still nomadic, well kind of

We moved house on the weekend. Usually I hate moving but this weekend was bittersweet for my Moving family and I. On the one hand, we were moving from the droning, incessant, nonsensical babble of the outlaws house. You haven’t heard shit being spoken until you have lived with my outlaws. They have a wonderful repertoire on almost any topic.

Different nationalities language

"It's funny when you see little kids of different nationalities speaking their funny little languages. You'd think it would be easier for them to say our words."

Dog training techniques

Outlaw dog (at a very inappropriate time and volume, usually as My Girl is trying to go to sleep) –“Woooof woooo woooo woooo wooof
Outlaw parent – Awwww, outlaw dog c’mon now…..stoop your rot!........now get on your bed……NO….not over there…....on your bed.

Wooooo woooof wooooof – running to the other side of the backyard.

Outlaw parent walks away mumbling “Oh well, there’s nothing you can do about it”

On buying an iron

Outlaw dad – “I told the lady in the shop that I would carry it to the car and that would be the last fucking time I was gonna touch the thing”

On cooking a stir-fry

Outlaw dad “I just put the veggies in, add a can of baked beans and some Worchester Sauce……Beauuuuuuuutiful”

On dead animals

Outlaw mum - “Outlaw dog’s gotten to a mice and killed it”

Wifey – “You mean a mouse?”

Outlaw mum  “Yeah. Outlaw dad, can you come and get this dead mice?”

Actually now that I think about it, it’s not really that bitter-sweet.

Moving was a really stressful process, particularly for Wifey as she is 30 weeks pregnant! We had so much to think about. Fridges, boxes, trucks, dogs, kids, keys, security, beer and everything else that goes with moving your entire life from one dwelling to another.

Kids amaze me. Whilst we where stressing out about how My Girl would cope, how she would act in the new house and if she would be ok, she was playing happily like nothing had happened. Saturday night was the first night we spent in our new house. It was also the first night that My Girl spent in her own room. Alone.

We were up every couple of hours checking on her, whilst she was fast asleep without a care in the world. So far so good. Three nights in and no hitches yet.

What about you guys, any weird family quotes or first time bedroom stories to share?
