My Daughter Loves Chalk

“Daddy, draw duck” she said as I took the oversized, super-fun, non-toxic, kid-friendly yellow chalk Chalkboard from its resting place on the chalkboard.

“Nooooooo a pink one!” she said with the conviction of judge issuing a sentence.
“All right then, we had better draw a pink one’ I said as I drew my 287th duck for the day.

My daughter loves chalk at the moment. Absolutely loves it. She will sit at her little chalk board for hours and just scribble. Circles, Rainbow’s, noodles, spaghetti, she will draw anything that can be represented by a squiggly line. Then, she will get her duster and wipe off the work she has done and start all over again.

The only thing is, she wants to draw on everything. The walls, the floor, the dog, her baby sister, daddy’s computer! I’m waiting for the day she runs to the door with two bits of chalk up her nose, dancing like a crazed under-aged synchronised swimmer saying “Daddy, I’m going to be in the the limpiks!”

Anyone have ideas about how to keep chalk in its rightful place, the chalkboard?
