At-Home Dads Convention in Washington, D.C., Oct. 6
Attention at-home dads! It's time to let the moms (or another responsible adult type) do the bulk of the parenting for a few days.
This way you can attend the 17th Annual At-Home Dads Convention, scheduled for Oct. 6, 2012, in and around Washington D.C.
Seventeenth annual? Yep, we at-home dads have been secretly organized for that long, plotting to take over the parenting world. SUBMIT! SUBMIT! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
The convention, sponsored by the nonprofit National At-Home Dad Network (formerly Daddyshome, Inc.), is dedicated to bringing at-home dads together to discuss their trials, travails and triumphs while walking away with some additional parenting knowledge and paternal camaraderie.
The festivities actually start Thursday night, Oct. 4, with a social event while the meaty stuff (workshops, education sessions, discussion groups) occur Saturday, Oct. 6. A service project to help local D.C.-area families will also be conducted because -- dang it -- dads care!
